A quick peek at Sine coming soon to Dress Shop!

The Cut (our go-to site for fashion news) did a nifty little write up on Micaela Ezra, the designer of Sine and Parameter, today.  The dresses arriving in the shop from both of these lines in the next few weeks are absolutely must-have if you’ve got a wedding or a party coming up or you just want to feel pretty (oh so pretty!)!  This one, for example:

Two words: Dress Envy.  Check in with us after Le Garage Sale (this weekend at Palmer Events Center- don’t miss it!) to see our new Spring collections!

Nelle Handbags now at Dress Shop!

Just got the most GORGEOUS shipment of handbags from Laura Nelli!  She makes each of these beauties by hand from silk charmeuse ribbon or petersham ribbon- they are simply heavenly!  They’ll be on shelves just in time for Valentine’s Day, so if you have a special date planned, a wedding, or know of a bride-to-be who would love to carry this on her big day (they also make perfect gifts for your bridal party!), come take a peek!

Each style can be special ordered in a variety of colors and trims- they are all stunning.  We’ve got swatch cards if you have a specific color palette in mind!

Save up to 75% at Dress Shop NOW!

Think of this as a warm-up to Le Garage Sale… Everything in the store is on sale- up to 75% off! You can’t miss your chance to get the best things first!

Then, be sure to visit us and every store in town at Le Garage Sale next weekend (1/30-31) at the Palmer Events Center!

Back from La La Land…

…and I have a cold!  No fair!  The land of sunshine and vitamins wasn’t enough to stop this one…  Anyhow, a NyQuil or two and I am feeling back to normal.  Well, a little groggy, but overall, I’m back!

Los Angeles was great, despite that minor mishap on the field.  We got in some quality time with our friends Kristy and Josh in their house in the Hollywood Hills- not bad lodging if you can find it.  A hot tub, sparkling views of the city, driving up Mulholland- one really can’t complain.  Here’s a rundown of the food we ate and celebrities we spotted:

Jenna Bush at the airport- by herself, no husband, no friends, no secret service?!  I question this.  And she was really tall.

The Griddle Cafe, delicious/ginormous pancakes = Steve Sanders (otherwise known as Ian Ziering).  If you are reading this, Alysia wants you to do a guest spot on the new 90210!

A.O.C., Suzanne Goin’s amazing small plates are worth the trip = John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.  We sat next to them and shared a bottle of wine while talking about their wedding plans and how much fun it is to work with Steve Carell.  Just kidding.  We spotted them on their way out and I almost choked on a chickpea.  But they are as good looking in person as they are on the screen.

Mozza, Mario Batali and Co. can do pizza like no other! = Kristy’s boss.  Not a celebrity, but still, we spotted him!

Chateau Marmont = no celebs!  What a rip!  I will say that the hostess and waitstaff were suspiciously nice, though.

Grub, LA’s best breakfast 2010 (It’s a little soon to be deciding that, dontcha think?) = no celebs, BUT, they serve chocolate chip cookies that have been rolled in potato chips before they’re baked.  Have they been infiltrating my dreams??

We got a hotel room for the last two nights of the trip so K&J could get back to some kind of normalcy before the next round of visitors (Josh thinks Kristy secretly opened a hostel in their house, hehe) and turns out the American Idol contestants were shacking up there, too!  We got some good “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and “Piece of My Heart” renditions from our neighbors and… well, that’s about enough American Idol for me!

This week- Project Runway!  Will be back Friday to discuss!

Welcome to Dress Shop!

Hello!  This is our very first blog post!  Alas, our New Year’s resolution for 2009 was to start a blog, so we’ve just missed the cut-off.  But surely (who you callin’ Shirley?) Father Time can grant us a pass on this one!

Thank you for visiting DressShopAustin.com, which is also just up and running.  Our online store is coming very soon, hopefully in time for Valentine’s Day shopping, so tell your valentine to be on the lookout!

We are off to Los Angeles on Wednesday and won’t return until next Tuesday, but we’ll get some good pictures (hopefully some big celeb-sighting will take place) and post them when we return!  Happy New Year and Hook ‘Em Horns!
